5100MP Random Power On
I have 2 separate installations of the above projector that will Randomly power themselves on. Any ideas on why or how to fix it ? (a 3rd projector never does this).
Update :
After browsing the Forum I have made a discovery. The 2 projectors are in Conf Rooms one above the other on 2nd and 3rd Floors. There is a re-enforced Concrete floor slab between them, and absolutly no line of site between them. But if I use the remote on one floor it controls BOTH projectors. Even when on the the 3rd floor and pointing the remote up towards the ceiling mounted projector, it will turn on/off the 2nd floor projector.
I though the remotes we IR, but do they also have RF ? if not how is it controlling a projector the other side of 12" of concrete ?
Any thoughts on how to get over the issue welcomed.

I can confirm Remotes are RF, so pass through walls !!
Dell do not supply alternate IR remotes, but we will get some Generic 3rd party Infra red controllers to overcome the issue. (the project will work with both IR and RF remotes)
Dell should supply channel selector so that Projectors in close proximity can be switched to non-conflicting channels.

Actually, the remote seems to have a "learning" channel selection option:
Auto Learning to Change RF Channel Between
Remote Controller and Projector
• Power on the projector.
• Press the "Menu" button on control
panel, then enter to "Management--
>RF_Ch Learning " menu.
• Select Yes with the control buttons to
enter the Learning Standby mode. The
projector will switch to standby mode
for RF Learning and display the RF
Learning menu.
• Open the battery cover on the remote
control and press the Prgm button to
initiate the RF Learning process for the
remote control and projector.
It seems to have fixed the problem.

Hi 4 Candles.
Did you have any luck finding an IR remote that will work with these projectors?
We need to obtain one as well but I'm having trouble finding anything on the web
Thanks
