Power Issue

Question

I have a Dell 3100mp which has been working great for about 5 months untill tonight when it comes on for less than 2 mins then the unit powers down and the power button just flashes fast. I cannot find any information on the fast flashing power light. Thanks for any help.

samstout, Disconnect the power cord, wait 2 minutes, plug it in, power on. What happens?

I am having the same problem with my Dell 2300 MP projector.  It comes on for a little while and then just shuts off.    It is about 1 year old, and hasn't had that much use.    Any ideas?   thanks

I'm having the same problem - just developed tonight when I needed the projector for a course.  I'm desperate as I need the projector tomorrow night for a meeting of around 200 people all relying on me!  HELP

This is the same for me eventhough I have had the projector working successfully for about two years. I don't think it is the bulb but very frustrating to understand what could possibly be problem. Don't want to spend $350 on bulb until I am sure that is the problem. Anyone know if Dell will take back a new bulb if I purchase and doesnt fix the problem?

I was having this problem with a 3100MP as well.  When I removed the bulb the glass cover was just in the bulb compartment disconnected from the actual bulb.  A little cleaning and inserting a replacement bulb nows seems to have fixed my problem.
