E20-260 VPLEX Specialist Exam

2 Questions around the E20-260 VPLEX Specialist EXAM.

1. Is there a certification path to this exam or is this the only vplex certification available from EMC ?

2. Looking at the criteria to take the exam it states that you need to have taken the MR-7CN-VPLEXIMP - VPLEX Implementation instructor-led training, I took the course MR-7CN-NSVPLEXDD VPLEX Design and Deployment (Instructor led training) and wonder does that qualify me for the course and if not why.

Thanks

Darren

Hi Darren, the ISM v1 certification is a valid associate for this EMCIE certification.  Holding the EMCISA certification (ISMv1 or ISMv2) and passing the E20-260 exam will earn you the Implementation Engineer, VPLEX Specialist Version 1.0 certification.

Good luck!

Hi Darren - welcome to the Proven Professional community!

The E20-260 exam aligns to the Implementation Engineer, VPLEX Specialist Version 1.0 certification.  In order to achieve this EMCIE certification, candidates must meet all certification requirements which includes an Associate level certification.  More detail regarding certification requirements can be found on the framework here or in your CertTracker account.

The curriculum listed on each exam description document is recommended, but not required to sit for an exam.  Have you attempted the practice test for this exam?  That will give you a gauge of your readiness for the exam.

Hi Debbie,

I was unclear about the  'meet all certificate requirements' and didn't want to go ahead and book/pass the exam and later find out i did not achieve the certification because i did not meet the requirements.

Looking at the IE track on https://edu.corp.emc.com/gs/certification/tracks/emcie_track.aspx

The Associate Level for VPLEX is listed as ISM v2, I have ISM v1 certification, is that no longer valid ?

If ISM v1 is valid then there is no other criteria required and i can go ahead and book the exam ?

Thanks

Darren
