Dell PERC H740p and DSS7500 node

Hello Dell Team,

We want to upgrade our DSS7500 node with a Controller with more cache. Actually PERC H740p with 8GB Cache looks like a good candidate. PCIe 3.0, SAS/SATA , Dell firmware....

Can anyone confirm if H740p SAS Connectors are compatible with DSS7500 node cables??

Current controller are just 2GB for manage 44 disk per node.

Hello,

No, I don't see any PERCs validated for use with this system, unfortunately. That having been said, I wouldn't be surprised if it were to work fine, but it isn't something that I can tell you is an officially supported config.

Hi Dylan,

Any powerfull raid controller tested in Dell for this nodes with more cache than PMC 8805 / LSI 9361 , those two just have 1GB or 2GB RAM.

I think PERC H740p will work, same connector, LSI/AVAGO chipset, 8GB RAM... PCIE3...

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no other validated or tested for DSS7500 in the view list that we both Dylan and I are getting. As much information as you too may get is in the user manual stating about Slot 4, it can install RAID, but doesn't say much what card it would be.
