I have few r815 and we have never updated anything on it yet. Basically what needs to be updated? Bios and firmwire ? It does not have the lifecycle controller. But on the dell drivers page I see the binary file for Lifycycle controller? Does this mean I can get the life cycle controller on 815s?
The LCC is embedded, so you should be able to use it.
Since you have never updated the servers, can you please provide the firmware levels you are currently on so we can get an idea of what we have?
Please send a private message with your service tag to ensure we have all appropriate information on your system.
Thank you for the service tag.
You will need to get the firmware individually unless you have OpenManage Server Administrator installed. You could get it from there.
Ok this is what I see from idrac
Bios version: 3.2.2 ( I recently updated this)
Firmware version: 1.80 ( Build 17)
Life cycle controller firmware : 188.8.131.52
Which is the correct files to update firmware and lifecycle controller ?
Here are the needed files for updating the iDRAC and LCC.
iDRAC6 remote access controller firmware Version 2.90, A00, released 25 Jul 2017, URGENT if below 1.95, *May take 8-15 minutes to complete
Lifecycle Controller Firmware Update Version 184.108.40.206, A00 released 25 Jun 2015, URGENT if at or below 220.127.116.11
Update the iDRAC before updating the Lifecycle Controller.
Hi thanks for the reply. I have Linux installed. By any chance I can download the 64 bit versions of drac and lcc updates?. The bin file I have downloaded are for 32 bit.
The link will be:
<Service tag removed>
If you select 'View full driver details' you will see the Linux version listed.
I downloaded ESM_Firmware_9GJYW_LN32_2.90_A00.bin from there
and when I ran it says
The following packages are required:
compat-libstdc++-33.i686 libstdc++ libxml2.i686
I installed them but still the same dependency problem.
What did i miss ?
