Rp4VM and vROPS/vRealize

Hello All,

"After failover, the production and copy virtual machine change roles, but the names do not change. Therefore, after failover, the new production virtual machine will still be <YourVMName>.copy and the new copy virtual machine name will still be <YourVMName>."

Can we rename the production copy to just YourVMName?.

We do not want VM's in vCenter with a .copy extension added and want to remove it.

Also we are implementing vROPS/vRealize for automation/monitoring etc. The concern is that if display name in vCenter changes it will affect these products. Will it?

Anyone else faced such queries/concerns?

Thanks and Regards

Yes, you can rename the VM without the .copy suffix.
