SRDF between VNX, VMAX, and DMX
Thank all of you in advance for any assistance.
Currently have a DMX installed and have a purchase of a VMAX and VNX in the near future. Can SRDF work between the three devices in any direction?
VNX -> DMX
DMX -> VNX
VNX -> VMAX
VMAX -> VNX
etc.
Thank you,
Jim Rash

Hello,
RecoverPoint/CL supports replication between all the arrays you've outlined below.
VNX -> DMX
DMX -> VNX
VNX -> VMAX
VMAX -> VNX
Read more about the broad support offered by RecoverPoint in the RecoverPoint family data sheet.

SRDF only works between between the DMX and VMAX. It doesn't work with a VNX. So SRDF will work in only the following configurations.
DMX -> VMAX
VMAX -> DMX

Vinay,
Thanks for the answer. So the document 300-011-847 Using SRDF/A with VNX is strictly between VNX devices?
Thanks,
Jim

This document describes when you have a Symmetrix array (such as a VMAX) attached behind a VNX gateway (a VG2 or VG8) where you wnat to replicate the luns in the VMAX array BEHIND the VG2/VG8 to another VMAX array using SRDF. SRDF only supports the Symmetrix DMX/VMAX; it does not support any VNX arrays.
