CAN I REPLICATE FROM FC TO SATA?

HI ALL,

IN OUR DR SITE WE HAVE LESS SPACE IN FC DISK GROUP.NOW WE WANT TO REPLICATE A LUN FROM DC TO DR.

IN DC THE LUN IS IN 2-WAY-MIRROR ON FC.CAN I REPLICATE THIS TO A LUN CREATED ON SATA DISK GROUP.

MAKING SURE IT IS SAME SIZE AND HAVE SAME NUMBER OF META MEMBERS AS DC LUN.

Hi,

Yes, you can replicate LUNs from FC disk to SATA on block level.

But you must consider between sync and async replication.

Generally, SATA disk have slow speed than FC that if use sync replication, you must have production speed reduction.

In this case, Async or RecoverPoint near sync is better than sync replication.
