Replistor Upgrade project
advise needed from all you replistor experts
i have inherated a replistor estate of 40 servers
split into 3 layers
top tier 2 servers with SAN Attached storadge
mid tier 6 servers on 3 sites (2 per site)
bottom tier on site file servers that users access directly
we have mirrioring from bottom tier file servers to the local mid tier
and nightly or some weekely schedualed sysncs from mid to top tier
all of our replistor versions are 5.3.4 (build 383d)
my plan is to move everything to the latest (i believe last edition) 6.4 something
my outline plan is this bassed on the info i have managed to gather
top tier upgrade to 6.2 this requires a reboot
mid tier upgrade to 6.2
bottom tier upgrade to 6.2
once these are all done with reboots and full syncs i will proceed with part 2
top tier upgrade to 6.4
mid tier upgrade to 4.4
bottom tier upgrade to 6.4
run full syncs
can anyone recomend or comment on how valid this plan is
can it be improved
what steps am i missing if any
i think i may have issues with licence codes

Hi,
Sorry.
I understand your concern matter.
I had overlooked the compatibility of 6.4.x.
Fixed a step.
STEP1
RepliStor cannot use 5.3.4 license key in 6.4.x.
You must obtain a new license.
You must contact EMC.
STEP2
It Is possible to upgrade directly from 5.3.4 to 6.2SP5P2 or 6.3SP3.
You need to reboot OS.
STEP3
You perform a Full or Incremental synchronization.
STEP4
Upgrade from 6.2SP5P2 or 6.3SP3 to 6.4SP2HF6.
Please refer to this article also.

STEP5
You perform a Full or Incremental synchronization.

I plan to try my 1st upgrade today or next week
on a low use server
i have had the below info from our reseller re licences
EMC have at last confirmed this morning that you can use your existing activation codes for the latest version of RepliStor so you can go ahead and upgrade
They have updated their database to reflect an upgrade to 6.4

Dear Yoshinobu Ito
We have replistore 6.2SP5P2 and want to upgrade to 6.4SP2HF6.
Could you send the upgrade to osvaldogerman@gmail.com?
Can not find anywhere in this upgrade
Thank you very much

I don't work with Replistor, but I tried to find it's product page. It does not seem to exist anymore.
This thread is over 1.5 years old, and It's possible that Replistor went end of life in Q1 of this year.
I suggest you reach out to your local sales team for assistance at this point

ogdmardel ,
RepliStor is no longer supported or maintained by EMC. On June 30, 2013 RepliStor was officially declared End of Service Life. Please refer to the following URL for commendations from some of the customers who used RepliStor and are discussing alternatives.

The latest version is 6.4.SP2.HF10 but it is no longer available from EMC. Other contributors to the above forum may be able to help you with any additional questions or suggestions. EMC no longer sells or supports RepliStor. If you still have a current Software Support agreement EMC will reimburse the remaining value or apply this value to other EMC Products.
Thanks…JS
