Don't forget Solution Manager

I have noticed that many of the SAP landscapes I size are missing Solution Manager, especially when sizing green field sites. As a best practice the Solution Design Center (SDC) will add two Solution Manager instances, one for production systems and one for non-production systems to the sizing. Don’t forget about this software when talking with your customers, especially for new implementations.

Don’t know what Solution Manager is? Here is what SAP has to say: “SAP Solution Manager is a centralized support and system management suite. An SAP system landscape may include a large amount of installed SAP systems. SAP Solution Manager tries to reduce and centralize the management of these systems. In such a landscape, SAP Solution Manager is the managing system, and the business suite applications (e.g. ERP, CRM, BI, EP) are the managed systems.”
