Is Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.5 - 32 bit supported

I have read the scaleIO 1.32.3 User guide

System requirements shows

Processor One of the following:
• Intel or AMD x86 64-bit (recommended) <--- what means recommended
• Intel or AMD x86 32-bit (for Xen only)

I tried to configure 3 Linux servers with redhat 6.5 (for testing scaleio)

[root@Linuxsc1 etc]# cat system-release

     Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5 (Santiago)

[root@Linuxsc1 ~]# uname -a

     Linux Linuxsc1 2.6.32-431.el6.i686 #1 SMP Sun Nov 10 22:20:22 EST 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

[root@Linuxsc1 ~]# uname -mi

     i686 i386

But trying to install, configure those servers I got the following error in the IM GUI.

Command failed: Could not install mdm on 10.68.32.203 due to:

error: required dependencies: libaio.so.1()(64bit) is required for EMC-ScaleIO-mdm-1.32-3455.5.el6.x86_64

Could you confirm that Redhat 32 bit is not supported ?

Is there any way to use the libaio 32 bit library ?

What means recommended in the processor section, seems 32 bit is not supported at all, it should be mentioned: x86 64-bit  mandatory.
