SDC can't see mapped volumes

Hi,

I have a ScaleIO cluster comprising of 5 servers. 4 are both SDSs and SDCs while the fifth is just a SDC. Three of the SDSs are also the MDMs/tiebreaker.

The SDS's are all running Centos 7.5, while the SDC only server is Redhat 7.5. I'm using ScaleIO 2.6.

The install went smoothly and all appeared fine until I tried to map volumes to the SDCs.

Regardless of how many volumes I map, only one appears on the SDC. If I try to format that one disk, I get IO errors.

The MDM can communicate with the SDCes.

# scli --query_all_sdc

MDM restricted SDC mode: none

Query all SDC returned 5 SDC nodes.

The SDC;s can communicate with the MDM.

# /opt/emc/scaleio/sdc/bin/drv_cfg --query_mdms

Retrieved 1 mdm(s)

MDM-ID 38a7827d0fd3cb25 SDC ID eb9d967900000000 INSTALLATION ID 51f1f2d20d82def5 IPs [0]-10.138.79.3 [1]-10.138.79.4

However, the SDC's can't see any volumes.

# /opt/emc/scaleio/sdc/bin/drv_cfg --query_vols

Retrieved 0 volume(s)

There are currently three volumes mapped to this SDC.

I've seen a lot of comments saying things like these are caused by the network, but all network communication seems ok. I can telnet to the MDM and SDS ports.

What could cause this?

See the workaround noted in following KB. This will be fixed in 2.6.1.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I can't open the link you gave me. It takes me to Dell's Support home page.

I ended up fixing this by downgrading the kernel on the SDCs from 3.10.0-862 to 3.10.0-514. I also tried 3.10.0-613, but it didn't work either.
