NEWBIE TO ESRS

HI,

We are going to be installing ESRS. The CE told us we need a VM and so I have that setup. Is this all I need? Can the gateway client and policy manager be on the same VM? Do I need both? Many thanks in advance.

No, I don't think so. We need IP solution to work for three VNX's.

Thanks Dynamox!

If VNX is the only product in your environment, then a Gateway server may not be necessary. You should be able to install the ESRS IP Client for VNX software package directly on the VNX management station server, which essentially operates as a mini-gateway. This is 100% customer installable. It may be helpful to take a look at the ESRS IP Client for VNX Requirements and Installation technical document (please let me know if you have trouble accessing this link).

Regarding co-location of the Gateway and Policy Manager servers (for heterogeneous environments, i.e. not just VNX), the corporate recommendation is that the Gateway server should be dedicated and that the optional Policy Manager should reside on a separate server.

No, just three VNX's.
