Apologies for the delay in responding.
In the current version of ESRS Policy Manager (v6.6) we focused on improving security by upgrading the previous underlying applications, moving from Tomcat 5 to Tomcat 7 and from Java 1.5x to Java 1.7x.
To see what’s new, please take a look at the page 6 of the Release Notes (not the operation guide), which has a section entitled “New Features and Functionality.”
One key issue that we addressed with this release has to do with the original post on this thread – “Policy manager hung in stopping state.” This should no longer occur with v6.6. We also now provide support for a wide variety of Operating Systems, including native support for 64-bit versions (this addresses the stopping issue as well).
Furthermore, we incorporated improved backup capabilities, a much more sophisticated/intuitive user interface, fixes that improve stability/scalability, and you’ll find that the help features are now contextual. In other words, instead of clicking on “help” and digging through a standardized menu, the help feature now has the intelligence to provide information based on your specific activity at that time.
