Product help.....

Morning

Looking for a little help as Im confused over the EMC ESRS products.

It appears we have ESRS-IP Policy Manager 6.6 running I think through 2 gateways.

PM no longer works through IE because it doesn't support the new longer encryption ciphers so having to use out of date versions of Firefox to make it work.

it would seem the issue is 'just' the Java ver 7.55 its using.

I can find no reference to a newer version of IP Policy Manager so my questions are two fold....

Can I just manually upgrade the Java on my PM host? I know the contractor who got this installed 2 years ago had fun and games with it I don't want to break it. its used farily frequently to support or vmax.

Secondly...can I or should I be looking at what I see as ESRS 3?  I cant tell form the blurb ive read if this is a newer replacement product or not.

Looking to get this working again in ie one way or another...before I retire end of Dec!

Any help  / observations welcome...

Marc

The version PM 6.6 is current. Policy Manager is independent of the version running on your gateways (esrs-clients)

To fix the  I recommend you checkout and implement 2 knowledge base articles :

https://support.emc.com/kb/466182 :  Upgrading the embedded Tomcat 7 service in ESRS Policy Manager 6.6 https://support.emc.com/kb/472244 : Security scan of Policy Manager 6.6 reports the use of low level ciphers and/or SSLv3

ESRS V3 or ESRS VE is the successor of ESRS IP (ESRS V2). New products will not be supported in ESRS IP, so it is recommended to migrate to ESRS VE.

ESRS VE is customer installable, but if you require assistance , I recommend you open a service request.

Good starting point for ESRS VE implementation would be
