HighErrorRate alarms in Smarts

Hi,

I think the reason for this HighErrorRate alarms is a lot of Giant packets.

My interface counters shows this:

L3 out Switched: ucast: 0 pkt, 0 bytes - mcast: 0 pkt, 0 bytes

19925397 packets input, 29861019242 bytes, 0 no buffer

     Received 2812 broadcasts (1864 multicasts)

     0 runts, 19184446 giants, 0 throttles

     0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored

     0 watchdog, 0 multicast, 0 pause input

0 input packets with dribble condition detected

     4035119 packets output, 4425091096 bytes, 0 underruns

0 output errors, 0 collisions, 0 interface resets

     0 babbles, 0 late collision, 0 deferred

0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier, 0 PAUSE output

0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out

This is not an issue and i dont need any alarms for Giants.

Is it possible to turn off alarms for Giants and still get alarms for CRC, input errors etc. ?

I cant find anything to change under "polling and threshold".

This is vendor specific and not really anything to do with Smarts.

Smarts polls the ifErrors counters under ifTable, it's up to the device vendor as to which types of errors they choose to record under those counters.
