Name for switch reporting incorrectly
In SMARTS Global Console the different name attributes (CIM_Name, DisplayName. Name, SystemName) are reporting a different name than is set for the hostname of our cisco switches. It appears that the information is being obtained from the /etc/hosts file rather than from the name on the actual device. Is there anyway to get the GUI to reflect the name of the device as reported in 'show running config' ?

Under the name-resolver.conf file what is the TM_USESYSNAME set to?
Also what is the AutoNameOrder?
As per EMC Support KB -http://support.emc.com/kb/354344
Please ensure that the devices is MIB 2 sysName can be resolved through DNS. If AutoNameOrder 1 TM_USESYSNAME in the name-resolver.conf file is changed to AutoNAMEORDER - TM_USESYSNAME, the devices MIB2 sysName must be resolvable through DNS to and IP address on the device. Otherwise Smarts cannot name the device as a sysName and discovery will continue to use the next in order in the name-resolver.conf.
