Smarts OI discards trap varbinds when value is empty?

It appears that the OI discards all the subsequent SNMP trap varbinds when one of the varbind value is empty. However, it seems to be working when the value has atleast a space.

For an instance, in the following trap, the OI discards the varbinds V2 and V3 as the value of the varbind V2 is empty.

sm_snmp --port=9005 trap 10.91.118.85 .1.3.6.1.4.1.8813 6 3 318236725 .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5 s "Nevion" .1.3.6.1.4.1.8813.1.1.2.2.1 s "" .1.3.6.1.4.1.8813.1.1.2.2.2 s "Exists"

Is there a way to workaround the issue in OI? Thanks in advance!

Are you expecting any such traps from any device? is there any specific reason why you testing this scenario? Could you please give some more details?

Arun,

Thanks for your response. There are scenarios in our case where the varbind value can be empty. We are receiving traps from a 3rd-party application and it sends empty values for objects such as ElementDescription, Comments etc. Please advice if there a way to workaround this.

This issue is fixed in SAM 8.1 Patch 3.
