EmailXtender Shortcuts not working in OWA

We moved half of our users mailbox into a new mailbox store on the same server, and since then the shortcuts in OWA have stopped working. Users get the message "This message has been archived by EmailXtract. Please open this message to view it."

The shortcuts in Outlook seem to still work fine. Shortcuts in OWA for users who's mailbox did not get moved to the new mailbox store still work fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Brandon

It should.

The retrieval message for OWA Plug-in is the same method that is used for the Offline Access Client.

I assume you're using the Plug-in.

Are they accessible via the OA Client?

That's what I originally thought too, but the permissions for the service account are the same for the new mailstore as the old one. In fact the permissions are set at the server level and propagate down to all of the mailstores. If it were a permissions issue wouldn't it affect Outlook message retrieving as well?

Thanks for the reply,

Brandon

Sounds like a service account permission issue on the new Mail Store.

When you say OA client, do you mean the "Legato EmailXtender Client"? If so, then yes, we are using that plugin and it does work with that.

My mistake, I thought you were talking about SourceOne.

That's a completely different animal.

What Exchange version is it that you are having an issue with OWA?

Exchange 2003

Hi Brandon,

Have you installed the OWA extensions on all of your 2003 Exchange backend servers?

Here is a section from our Install guide:

◆ After creating a new message store in Exchange, you need to

reinstall OWA support. Otherwise, the OWA client cannot

retrieve shortcuts on a new mailbox store or after a mailbox is

moved to new store.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Brad

Thanks for the reply. We only have 1 Exchange backend server, but I have not reinstalled OWA support after the new mail stores and the mailbox move. This could be the issue. I'll give it a shot.

I went ahead and reinstalled OWA support on the Exchange server, but it doesn't appear to have fixed the issue. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Brandon

What version of Exchange?

Are we talking about SourceOne or EmailXtender and what version?

Did you ran an Update Shortcuts activity against these EmailXtender shortcuts? This solved the issue for me in the past.
