Migrate Journal Mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to 2010

Would someone be able to advise me on the proper method to migrate the journal mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010.  In addition, is the Outlook 2010 client supported on the S1 servers?

I prefer to create a new Journal Mailbox on 2010 and leave the 2007 Journal Mailbox active until all users are moved and you are ready to retire 2007.

This lets you run in Co-Existence between 2007 and 2010. This way you can move users at your leisure.

Yes, Outlook 2010 is now supported for the Offline Access Client on SourceOne.

Gary, thanks for your reply......

Since the 2007 journal mailbox is still recording messages globally for the exchange environment (even those I have already migrated).......would it be possible to migrate all the users to 2010 first and then just move the journal mailbox to the new server?  Would the permissions required by the journal mailbox move with it to 2010 or would I need to set those again?  I think by doing that, I will not have to make any changes to our S1 server configuration at all......

Since the Journal function is configured per mail store it would make more sense to create a new one for 2010 and the moved users would be picked up as they were moved from 2007 to 2010.

You do have to set permissions for the SourceOne Service Account in 2010 either way.

Adding a new Journaling account is just a matter of creating a new Journal activity in S1 pointing to the new account.
