Another PBSD DVD DS-8W1P problem

Hello I am getting the problem of audio glitching and interrupts when using Digital Audio Workstation applications unless I turn this drive off in my dell vostro 1500 and Dell Inspiron E1505 I read about the problem a few times yet never saw a resolution as people simply sent their Dells back and bought other brands. Tech chat is being surprisingly unhelpful on this issue, though they are excellent every other time I talked to them. What can I do?
