CD/Drive

Hello, I just recently brought a Dell Inspirion 17R and I played one dvd on it and it worked fine. Now I try to play a cd and it won't play at all. Looking at it in device manager, it says this for

 TSSTcorp DVD+/-R

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

What do I do to fix this?

Hi Missylissy90,

Click my link below for the upper and lower filter trick. When you run this, you'll get a report telling you if there was a problem and whether it was fixed. Let me know what happens.

Your link goes to the Fix it page, which doesn't help at all. It doesn't go to the filter instructions you mentioned.

Hi sr71loghead,

There are two ways to do the upper and lower filter track. One is to run the Fix-it utility. Of course, the Fix-it trick doesn't always work. The second option is to follow the link from the first URL to the manual instructions. So both options are available from that link.
