CD-RW Help

I unplugged my CD-RW and plugged it back in (which was working before) and now neither my cd-rw nor my dvd-rom will read cd's, but they spin up and open/close, whats going on?

Thanks in advance.

Re: CD-RW Help

Check the cabling.  If you didn't get the cable on properly (it's keyed and will only go on fully one way) - fully seated that can be a problem.  It's not power since it will open/close and spin up.  Did you change any device strapping? or add any other drives?  Most Dells (and other brand computers) come from the factory strapped for Cable Select.  The old Master/Slave is not used from the factory.
