Copying DVDs on my computer
Help!!! I bought a Pioneer vhs-DVD player-recorder. I copyed vhs to dvd and tried to copy the dvd on my Dell computer. It won't reconize the disk I put in it. My Pioneer DVD requires DVD-RW and DVD-R. Something won't match but I can't figure it out. can anyone help this old Papermaker? Gman

Please provide the details on your computer, OS, system, drive make/model.
You say it won't "recognize the disc". I'm not sure what you mean by that. Are you able to view the disc contents in Windows Explorer?

Gman:
It's all about compatibility. You tabletop DVD recorder only burns DVD-R (note the dash), while your computer drive only burns DVD+R. The discs from one may not be compatible in the other and vice versa. Note I say may not be compatible. Some Pioneer tabletop recorders can read DVD+R, but it depends on the model.
The best solution would be to get a Pioneer dual-format (DVD±RW) drive for your computer, which would then be compatible with your tabletop set. Then you could use DVD-R discs for either. Otherwise, you could get a regular DVD player that plays everything.

Thanks Osprey,
I've already tried to run dvd+ on my recorder and it wouldn't work.
I think I'm gonna try the new drive. Thanks a million. Gman
