DELL VOSTRO 1550, system is not booting
Hi all,
When I run Dell diagnostic test for My Dell Vostro 1550 laptop, I'm getting the following error
ERROR CODE 2000-0142
validation 50859
Msg: Hard Drive0 -S/N 5VERVRGN, self test unsuccessful status-7.
Can anybody decode this to resolve the problem. My laptop is not booting at all.
Please help me out.

Hi,
I found a solution and its working...!
I just boot the system with Windows7 os DVD and tried with the repair option. Did a memory diagnostic for bug fixing with same.
Now my machine is working properly.

Hi Praveenams,
Your hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. Call Dell for a replacement if your laptop is still under warranty.
