DVD Roms, Blu-Ray, all became unavaliable

something weird happened.. without installing any new software or hardware or doing anything fancy.. all of a sudden both my dvd drives and my bluray burner (all internal, properly connected, etc..) became unavialable.. if I go to control panel/system/device manage, they all show there with the good old yellow exclamation mark

If I click properties on any of the drives it says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

Not sure what is going on.. updating drivers isn't doing anything.. any clue how I can fix this without having to format anything? I can't afford to format my pc right now.
