DVD drive will not burn on Inspiron 1520
My Dvd burner is not recognised by my DVD burning software and until recently, I had Roxio installed - I'm not sure whether this was software that came with the laptop. Anyway, I cannot burn DVDs or back up onto CD Rom.
I've installed the update from the Dell website - any ideas?

You said you "had" Roxio installed. Does that mean it is no longer installed?
Please go to device manager and locate the exact model of your CD/DVD drive. I need that information.

Hi Osprey,
Thanks for your quick resposne. I sat down and went through it all methodically (being v time poor this has only taken me 2 years to get to!) and worked it through - it was a software issue and I am no happily backing up all my info on CD
