Disk 2 failed in RAID 1 system

I have a 3y old Dell Studio XPS 9000, with i7 8G RAM, and 2 500G HD set in RAID 1, running W7. Was running well until last pm; got a message on start up that HD#2 failed.  Purchased 2 new 500G SATA HD - same as installed.  Question: Do I just swap out the bad for a new HD and restart system?  Will the RAID rebuild HD#2?  Will I be prompted to allow the rebuild?  If you can point me to any articles or manuals, I'd be much appreciative. Thanks in advance.

The RAID 1 should rebuild automatically if you substitute a good drive for a bad one.  Just make sure you pick the correct drive to replace.
