Factory Recovery Media

USB Flash Drive not recognized!  "This feature not supported by your operating system. Please use external USB hard drive".   This surely can not be right!

OS is windows 8.1.   PC is XPS 18

Dell Backup and Recovery version 1.8.1.71

Premium license purchased and installed yesterday. Spent all day today trying to recognize USB flash drive!

Hi Tyrosmick,

What are you trying to do? Create a recovery USB flash drive? It would really be helpful if you provided more details.

When you open DBAR, wait until it loads - then connect the flash drive.  The drive needs to be repartitioned and formatted as part of the backup schema as well.

If you still get nothing, try one of the other USB ports.

Done all this about 6 times! Though I have paid for premium, I think I'll have to look for other software that does what it is supposed to do! Not happy!

Considering how long it takes to start the program, I'm impressed you didn't throw the PC at a wall after the third time.
