Hard Drives Issues, Dimension 8400

Current Configuration:

Dimension 8400, Pentium 4 @3 GHz; 2.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM; Seagate 7200.7 (80GB); Win XP Pro

Change:

Swapping out 80 GB drive for Seagate 7200.11, 500GB, 32MB cache. SATA II drive

Actions:

Mounted & powered up new drive

Got it to recognize in BIOS

Partitioned (whole drive, no subs) & quick formatted through WinXP

Used DiscWizard to clone old system with goal of migrating to new drive. Told it to overwrite current partition.

Results:

Windows recognizes new drive under My Computer

With DiscWizard, System powered down like it was supposed to. No change (no files, etc.) on new drive

In BIOS, marked out old drive (turned to "Off") and left new drive alone. System tells me something like "Can't find drive - press F1 to retry or F2 to setup"

Can't figure out how to 1) actually clone files from old to new drive, and 2) change drives so new drive is the master

Questions:

1) Does this mobo support SATA II? If not a PCI SATA II controller is pretty cheap but would like to avoid if possible

2) How do I switch over to the new drive? Can I re-config in BIOS or do I manually switch cables? If so, do I switch the ones on the motherboard or the back of the drives?

Thanks
