Inspiron 7000 hard disks

My old Inspiron 7000 is getting a new lease of life as a print and mail server but I could do with increasing the hard disk, to make it even more useful. It only has a 6GB disk. I'm in the UK and have noticed a few hard disks (for the 7000) in their UK on-line store. However, they are generally more expensive than disks from external companies. However, I'm not sure how to determine compatibility. The connector on the DELL HD doesn't look the same as some images I've seen on other sites.

Does anyone have any tips on where I can get compatible drives, or how to fit "standard" drives, from retailers other than Dell?

Remove the connector from the back of the old drive, and slide it on the new one. The drive is completely standard - the caddy has a connector on it that is Dell-specific.

Thanks, ejn63; that was quick!

I had assumed that the connector I saw was part of the hard drive but, you're right, it's an additional piece. Great, I can just get any standard drive.

Thanks again, that's saved me a lot of money.
