Is Samsung PRO SSD compatible with DELL Latitude E6420?

I would like to change my hdd to ssd. I am looking for 500GB SSD to mantain same capacity. Is Samsung MZ-7TE250BW 840 EVO SSD, 2.5", 250 GB compatible to DELL Latitude E6420.

Is my sata controller of type III?

Is more adaptable Samsung EVO SSD or Samsung PRO SSD?

Is the capacity more than 256GB a probelm?

Please see this document by dell where only samsung with 128 and 256GB are reported

Hi Guido74,

The SATA controller in your laptop is SATA II but a SATA III SSD should work without any problem. There's not going to be any noticeable difference in speed between PRO and EVO so just buy what costs less.

Should not be a problem. Crucial lists SSDs up to 1TB as compatible.

Hello,

I have a Dell latitude E6400 with a 80 GB hdd. Unfortuantely this hdd has crached(made scratching noises and laptop claimes to have a memory problem(won't boot and caps-lock light is blinking)). Can I replace the HDD with any other HDD? like this one: < >

Thanks!
