LATITUDE D820 HARD DRIVE
Trying to install a 500gb hard drive in this unit, win 7 is saying that it does not see the drive and is asking for drivers??, is 500gb too big of a drive?,

Hi DEVILLE847,
I would suggest you to check if the hard drive is detected in the system by checking in the BIOS (F2 during startup).
Also, Please run the diagnostics on the computer by following the steps mentioned in the video below and check if there is any issue with the hardware on your system.

Diagnostics gives error code: 1000-0141 DST short test fail. Can the latitude D820 support this size harddrive? My other computers see it.

Hi Deville847,
That error indicates a hardware problem with the drive. Yes, the Latitude D820 supports drives of 500 MB but of course a bad drive is not going to work for a Windows install.
