Maxtor HD Not Showing Up
I just got a refurbished dell pc and I installed a 40 gig maxtor hard drive (as a slave) that I had on my old pc and it's not showing up, I've tried changing the jumpers around but nothing has worked yet.
any suggestions?
pc specs:
master: 120 gb
os: win xp home
processor: intel P4

Did you entered the BIOS and set the 2nd HD to "Auto" connect it on the middle connector of the primary cable, set the jumpers to "Cable Select" and after the drive has been installed, it must be patitioned and formated. These are generic instructions for installing an additional hard drive using Windows XP Disk Management, they are by Seagate, but apply to all brands,
