New Hard Drive failure on Precision M20

Brand new replacement Hard Drive fails with read error after only 1-week of usage.  Precision M20 no longer under warranty.  How do I report & return drive?

if the drive was a warranty replacement, it has 90 days or the balance of the system warranty.  However, if the warranty on the system is expired, you'll need to pay for a support call to use the warranty:

Did you buy the hard drive, or was a Dell warranty replacement?

Hard drive was purchased from Dell as an upgrade.  It was not a Dell warranty replacement.  Is there no built in warranty on new parts from Dell or manufacturer?  If so, it should be made clear.  Otherwise, direct purchase from manufacturer would be the preference.

If you paid for it with a credit card call then and register a dispute claim

Try going to the manufacturer's website, look for the warranty section and enter the hard drive's serial number and see what comes up.   :emotion-5:
