Nivida Windows 7 64bit chip set drivers

I updated my Studio 1909 to Windows 7 but having a problem installing the Nivida chip set  64bit drivers v#15.41.

while installing the drivers for the Sata IDE driver which is the recommended driver for Windows 7 64BIT , after installing the driver and rebooting it will cause a blue screen and require you to a system restore the Nivida drivers will not install for Sata IDE drive without an problem

this will cause erratic usage to the DVD burner and slow hard drive performance is there any work around this this issue

Welcome to the forums Kuya

while installing the drivers for the Sata IDE driver...

That doesn't actually make sense?  SATA and IDE are two different formats?

There are no separate downloads or installation files for SATA or IDE, because they're are included in the chipset drivers?

Where did you get the chipset drivers you've been trying to install from?

This is the official Studio 1909 'Drivers & Downloads' page for Windows 7 64bit, and these are the Nvidia chipset drivers, specifically

**** When you click any download link, choose to download it via your browser - NOT the Dell Download Manager!!

The Download Manager has been known to cause all sorts of problems for many users :emotion-43:

This is the read me with the chip set drivers

This Windows 7 64-bit nForce OEM Ready UDA beta driver package consists of the following components:

Away Mode Driver (v6.0.6000.111) WHQL
GPU Driver (v186.18) WHQL
PhysX (v9.09.0428)
Ethernet Driver (v73.07) WHQL
Network Management Tools (v73.08) "Sedona"
SATAIDE Driver (v11.1.0.26) WHQL
SATARAID Driver (v11.1.0.26) WHQL
RAIDTOOL Application (v11.1.0.28)
SMU Driver (v1.70) WHQL
Installer (v7.37)

without the IDE driver the burner will not successfully burn a DVD and slow hard drive performance

what I will try is the Vitsta drivers instead

Aaah... now it makes sense!  Thanks for including that info :emotion-21:

SATAIDE Driver

That means those particular drivers cover both IDE and SATA devices.

It would've been better if they'd divided the two - i.e. SATA/IDE Driver...

BTW (being pedantic):  You're welcome :emotion-5:
