Optiarc AD-7640S Issue

Hello.

  I have a Studio Hybrid Desktop 140G with a Optiarc AD-7640S DVD combo drive. The drive will read data CD/DVDs just fine, but will not read movie DVDs without locking up my PC. I'm getting one of the two error messages listed below. I checked on the Microsoft site, but there wasn't a real solution. I tested the drive with three movie DVDs. One was an older movie and two were new out of the case movies. All three will play on my Dell laptop with Windows Vista Ultimate and on the standalone DVD player. I would like to see if there is a way to fix this without having to send the PC back for repairs. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
