PERC H710P firmware upgrade problem
Hi All,
Just wondering if there is an issue with the “SAS-RAID_Firmware_C1VYX_WN32_21.2.0-0007_A04.exe” package?
I have been getting an alert from one of my R720 servers that there is a warning state.
I had a look in OMSA and it was the PERC H710P Mini controller firmware.
It was showing 21.1.0-0007 (Current) and 21.2.0-0007 available.
I jumped into the DELL site and downloaded the above package and tried to install but I get “This Update Package is not compatible with your system configuration”
I’m 100% sure I’m running Windows 2008 (x32) and no I/O background task is running.
Regards,
wbarmst

Hi Brad
Sorry for the delay as it took me sometime to locate the correct firmware for you.
Please give this a try:-
downloads.dell.com/.../SAS-RAID_Firmware_MRFR5_WN32_21.2.0-0007_A04.EXE
Let us know how it goes.

Hi Brad
If you are using H710P, I think you should be using this file?
downloads.dell.com/.../SAS-RAID_Firmware_347MX_WN32_21.2.0-0007_A04.EXE
Give it a try, let us know how it goes.

Hi Manfred,
This version installs fine and the IO performance is noticeable too!
Thanks,
Brad

Manfred, can you find which version of H710P firmware is correct for the Precision Workstation T7600? This is for firmware 21.2.0-0007_A04.
Also, please note that Dell *removed* the link to the H710P BIOS on the list of drivers for the T7600. They still have a link to BIOS for H310P adapter. So there may be some compatibility issue, or alternately someone in product management may have just forgotten to add that link.
I tried to run SAS_RAID_H710PA_21.2.0-0007_A04_ZPE.exe which lets me copy the update utility to a bootable DOS key. But when I boot from DOS and execute that I get "no controller found" during the update process.
