Replacing HDD with SSD in Inspiron N7010

I'd like to replace the HDD in my N7010 with a SSD. Has anyone done this, and if so what is considered the best make/model for it?

Hi,

Yes you can surely go ahead and replace it. You can go to http://dell.to/1qbAdUc and check for new SSDs and replace it with the one which fits your need.

Hope this helps,

Hello I am interested in this as well.  When visiting the link here it seems the list shows external drives.  Is it possible to replace with an internal SSD?

Yes.  Any standard 2.5" SATA SSD will work.

My disk usage was often showing 90% or 98% or 100% in Task Manager.  Very, very, annoying slowdowns on my i3 Inspiron N7010.  Could never figure out the cause.  It would seem to just randomly happen, and Task Manager never pointed to one specific thing.  I replaced the HDD with an SSD, and all of those problems have disappeared.  Best fix I've ever made to a computer.  This i3 Inspiron N7010 now does everything perfectly.  Fast bootup; fast wake up from sleep; can now open lots of browser tabs; can have multiple apps open.  Whenever I check Task Manager, disk usage is almost always less than 3%.
