SATA & IDE HD IN A POWER EDGE 1420SC SERVER
Good day, We have a PowerEdge 1420sc Server with two 16 Gb sata Hard Drives in a Raid 0 and need expand storage capacity with an 320 IDE Hard Drive, the first ones are the booteable with Win 2003.
The question is If we can do that and how can we remain the Sata to be booteable and the IDE Hard drive as an slave or secondary disk.
I will appreciate all your support and help.
Thank you very much.

Hi Williamcosta,
I don't believe that system will boot from an IDE hard drive with an SATA system drive, so you should be able to add the IDE drive without impacting the operating system. Be sure to verify the IDE driver jumper is set to cable select, and check the BIOS to be sure it's detected once installed.
