ST33000652SS 3TB NearLine SAS drive firmware upgrade Ubuntu server

Hello everybody,

I recently added an MD1200 to my T110II Ubuntu powered server;

I installed OpenManage 7.4 from the community repository; On the DAS I have 600GB 15K SAS drive and 2x 3TB NearLine SAS drive.

Openmanage is unable to display me my physical drive (it shows a blank page when I select it) unless I unplug both my 3TB drive.

the"Physical Disk Firmware Version Report for PERC H800 Adapter" says that there is an update for the firmware of those disks:

I have downloaded this package "SAS-Drive_Firmware_23TVX_LN_RSFE_A00.BIN" from this link:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/it/it/itdhs1/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverid=23TVX&c=it&s=dhs&l=it

But if I run that update I get this error:

$ sudo ./SAS-Drive_Firmware_23TVX_LN_RSFE_A00.BIN
[sudo] password for :
Collecting inventory...
...
Running validation...

This Update Package is not compatible with your system configuration.

I get the same response if running it under the "Centos65-OM74-Firmware-LiveDVD.x86_64-1.1.0-Build6.1".

Do you have any suggestion?

Are the display problem and the firmware update related?
(by the way, the leds on my SAS drive works correctly on the md1200 while on the 3TBNL-SAS those leds are both always on....)

Thank you

Francesco
