You can try making an image of the system to an external drive and then restoring the image to the internal one;  Acronis True Image works well for this.

Hi GP,

Welcome to the Community. First, as you are looking forward to get the HDD to be upgraded from 320 GB to 1 TB as per the technical specification that is possible. Secondly as you have mentioned that you want to know how to use factory restore on new HDD, but technically that option will not be available as a new HDD will not have anything on it. Once you install a new HDD on the system you will have to install the operating system and the all the drivers on the it manually.

Factory restore is only available on Dell replaced HDD.

Hope this answer yours query,

Thank you

Hi Jaswinder

Does this means I will loose my genuine windows if I install a new harddrive.

Awaiting your reply.

Hi Gautam,

No, your Windows license will work on a new drive. You won't lose anything.
