XPS 8500 files transfer rate is slow

Hi,

I have just bought a XPS 8500 last week. Everything seems to be fine except the File Transfer rate is quite slow. When copying a large number of files from one partition to another (C to D drive) it is averaging 20 - 30 MB/s. When I try to copy the same amount of files within the same partition (C Drive) it is averaging 80 - 100 MB/s. This is worst than my Win 7 laptop.

In my Windows System information page, the Windows Experience Index is showing the Primaary hard disk: Disk data transfer rate is on 5.9 which is quite slow.

I was wondering has anyone else experiencing similar data transfer rate issue with their XPS systems?

Here is my system summary:

Hi AhSum,

That score, 5.9, is exactly what you should get for a mechnical hard drive. Have you checked for an updated version of the Intel RST?

Yes. I have already installed the lasted version of Intel RST.

But this score of 5.9 is worst than my 2 years old laptop (6.1) which have a slower spin rate and bus transfer rate.
