My Blu Ray Drive Doesn't Work Since Iv'e Upgraded To Windows 8. Bios Recognize The Drive But, My Computer Does Not See It. I Have A 435mt XPS. Can Someone Help Me Locate A Driver For Windows 8? Or,  Is This Drive Compatible With Windows 8?

Hi robwejam,

Follow below steps which can resolve the issue:

Close any DVD or Burning Software. These programs may be attempting to use the drive, which keeps Windows from accessing the disc. Programs to look for include:

  • Roxio family of products
  • Power DVD
  • WinDVD
  • Media Direct
  • Windows Media Player
  • Nero Burning ROM

Run Microsoft fixit on the computer for Blu-ray drive.

Also, update Blu-ray drive firmware on the computer.

Awaiting your response!

Hi Robwejam,

Please run the Dell diagnostics on your BD drive.
