can't play or burn with my dell latitude D600 dvd drive
Hi, i'm new here. I have a dell latitude d600 notebook and been having problems playing and burning cds, dvds. It doesn't even recognise the discs and I am hoping the drive isn't Knackered. I was told doing a firmware update might sort this out. I went to the dell website and found out that there are many firmware updates available and wondering which one to go for. Any assistance would be appreciated as I am a complete noob in all this, thank you.
However, I would recommend running the Dell Diagnostics for the drive. The Diagnostics may be on your system by pressing F12 during the startup. Otherwise, it is on the Dell resouce disc that came with the system, but because of the problem, you may not be able to boot with it. If not, try the Firmware.
Re: can't play or burn with my dell latitude D600 dvd drive
yeah I did that but at a particular time it asked me to load the cd which I don't have. I also tried installing the autoexe (msdos) but a screen just flashed for like a sec and disapperared then nothing. Any other suggestions? thanks again for the help.
