error code : 2000-0142

system- dell inspiron 3542 

error 2000-0142 .... 

what to do ?

The hard drive has failed.

If the system is under warranty, contact Dell with the exact error and they'll replace the drive.

If the system is out of warranty and you need help selecting a replacement drive and installing it, please post the full model number of the system (i.e., Inspiron N5110, XPS L501x,, etc.).

You'll need a new, 2.5" 7 mm SATA notebook hard drive (or hybrid drive, or solid state drive).  The service manual details the replacement process:
