formatting

Hello everyone,

I have a desktop that I am giving to a friend for her grandson and I am trying to reformat the disk to clean all of my old files out of it.  I have tried several times to do this with no success.  Can anyone help.  I have gone to the help file and followed the instructions with no luck.  Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

You can follow the below link to format your system.

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/

document?c=us&docid=58E26A65A4388E4FE040AE0AB7E107E3&l=en&s=gen

Copy the whole link and open in new browser window. Do not worry about the system name mentioned in that webpage. Just follow the steps from that page.

Regards

Maaruthi

Welcome to the forums :emotion-5:

An alternative option, is to use the free version of Active@ KillDisk (click the 'Download Free Version' link in the top left).

It's an excellent program, specifically designed for the purpose :emotion-1:
