sector errors in my hdd?
My laptop dell n5010 is running pretty fine..i ran the dell diagnostic test today and thats when i found out there are 2 errors...I dont understand whats these are..

SMART Short Self Test

Error Message: The device reported the following status: The previous self-test completed having the read element of the test failed. 3/10/2011 3:48:14 PM
Error Message: The first failing LBA value is 84398441 and the failure occurred after the device had been operating for 1450 power-on hours. 3/10/2011 3:48:14 PM
Test Finished: Failed 3/10/2011 3:48:16 PM
this is the other error shown ..How how can these be rectified?

Have the drive replaced under warranty.

No - any drive that shows bad sectors is on its way out. Have it replaced ASAP. You may want to run the Dell diagnostics (f12 at powerup) before you call for replacement - they will likely ask for the error code (which you should record exactly).

The most common cause is physical damage inside the drive - usually due to a bump or drop.

what could be possible reasons for bad sector?
