Hi chcts1,

I suggest you to check if the SSD is properly connected to the hard drive's SATA port and reseat it. We have not officially tested Inspiron N4030 with SSD and also suggest you to change the SATA Operation in BIOS to AHCI.

Please let me know about your findings.

Hi chcts1,

It seems you've found the Kingston SSD is not compatible with your laptop. Not sure what to suggest except use the OCZ or another brand that's compatible.

Thanks for your answer. I tried everything ocz  ssd works on laptop , however kingston doesnt work , but kingston works on another computer. There should be a compatibility problem ( hardware number of kingston not detected by bios  I m not sure about this ) . Bios update needed for n 4030 pls help

I think this is dell's problem . Company should release a bios update

bingo it worked so kingston is compatible with dell
