wierd sound from hard drive. please help!
some sort of strange screeching sound comes from my hard drive
i get the same exact sound as in this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9obzgmWrlM
I contacted Dell regarding my problem but they were telling that its from CD/DVD drive.
note:iam sure that the problem is in hard drive, because only three things keep turning in a laptop CD/DVD drive, Fan , Hard drive
there is no problem in fan and CD/DVD drive so it has to be from hard drive

Hi Mohammadshahbaaz,
What is the model of your laptop? One thing you can try is to run the Dell diagnostics. The DVD or hard drive test will determine if there is a fault with the unit.

dell inspiron 15r n5521
And Yes, I ran that Dell diagnostics but it showed no problem.

you didn't get that screeching sound?
I think that is unusual.Its a sign of hard drive failure.
